I'm back again, with another solo episode! I'm planning to release second editions of my business mindset books in 2020, and I just had a very productive workcation weekend last week where I finished the first draft of my first book, Business Beliefs. I can't wait to share this book with the world, even though I'm not doing this type of work anymore. The content is important, and I want to get it out there.
This has led me to start reading Dr. Carol S. Dweck's book Mindset: Changing the Way You Think to Fulfill Your Potential. I've been wanting to read this book for ages, but because I talk a lot about mindset, I honestly didn't want to read it and then be influenced by it so much that I ended up subconsciously taking on her ideas and putting them forth as my own. Kind of silly, because I think I'm pretty clear on what my thoughts, beliefs, and ideas are, but there you go.
I figured that I've been writing and talking about mindset enough by now that I've got a pretty clear message of my own, and I was inspired to pick it up and finally start reading it when it caught my eye on the shelf last week. I'm only 50 pages into the book, and I'm loving it. I highly recommend it.
I'm aware that because I have a growth mindset, I tend to assume that anyone listening to this podcast does, too. But I now know that our mindset is not 100% fixed or growth. We can have a fixed mindset in some aspects of our lives and a growth mindset in others. I thought it would be useful to explore this concept so we can become aware of how we approach the different areas of our lives.
