Into the Woods with Holly Worton

Nov 21, 2022

I'm excited to introduce this week's guest, Ethan Gallogly. I originally discovered him on PodcastGuests.com which, incidentally, is a great place to find guests for a podcast – or to pitch yourself to be featured on other shows. A few months ago, I read his fantastic novel, The Trail, which I really enjoyed.

Ethan is super knowledgeable about the John Muir Trail, and it shows in both his book and his conversations about the trail. He’s hiked the trail twice, and he shares his tips in this episode. I hope you enjoy the trip!

About Ethan Gallogly

Ethan Gallogly, PhD has been a leader in the Sierra Club, the Cal Hiking and Outdoors Society (CHAOS) at UC Berkeley, and the Outdoors Club of Southern California. His boots have covered countless miles, including the John Muir Trail, the High Sierra Trail, the Oregon Section of the Pacific Crest Trail, the Tahoe-Yosemite Trail, and the Theodore Solomons Trail. He was a reviewer for Sierra North, Sierra South, and Yosemite National Park and has read nearly every book on the history of the Sierra Nevada.
